Board Members
BARRY N MESSINGER, MD
Dr. Barry N Messinger, has been in the practice of orthopedic surgery since 1985. He completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Sportsmedicine at Sportsmedicine Brookline which was associated with New England Baptist Hospital and University of Massachusetts School of Medicine. He has been an Orthopedic Consultant to the University Of Connecticut Division Of Athletics since 1985, closely involved with all the varsity athletic teams including men's and women's basketball and soccer, as well as football. He has covered UConn's participation in Final Four events in men's basketball, women's basketball, and men's and women's soccer as well as multiple games in NCAA tournaments in many varsity sports. In addition, Dr Messinger has covered numerous local high school events including football, basketball, soccer, track as well as periodic medical coverage for the Special Olympics, Nutmeg Games, Manchester Road Race, and regional camps for national level high school soccer players. He has been a member of the Committee for the Medical Aspects of Sports for the Connecticut State Medical Society where he contributed pertinent articles for the SportsMed newsletter. Dr Messinger has also been a guest lecturer to the UConn and University of Hartford Physical Therapy Departments as well as to several regional sportsmedicine conferences.
As a youth Dr Messinger co-captained Varsity track and soccer teams at Roger Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, was voted second team All-Fairfield County Soccer and played on the Yale Varsity Soccer team.
Dr Messinger attended University of Connecticut School of Medicine and was an orthopedic resident and Chief Resident in the UConn Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Presently Dr Messinger works as an Orthopedic Hospitalist at Eastern Connecticut Health Network and still consults with the UConn Division of Athletics. During his free time Dr Messinger has traveled on several medical trips to Guatemala and the Dominican Republic, and helped build homes in Guatemala for Habitat for Humanity. He speaks intermediate level Spanish. He enjoys traveling, skiing, swimming, and enjoyed hiking trips to Macchu Picchu and the Grand Canyon.

BRENDA HOROWITZ
Brenda Horowitz brings to Innovative CEUs a uniquely broad background that spans the fields of business, technology, and education. Brenda has assisted both start-ups and established companies in developing their business plans and marketing collateral. She has worked on user interface design for emerging technologies, and also delivered technical training courses. In the field of education, Brenda not only provided professional development seminars for formal and informal educators, but has also worked directly with students in K-12 school and youth program settings.
Brenda holds a Master of Business Administration and has served on the Board of several non-profits. She has written and received grants for innovative programming and Board development.

CARMINE DENARDO, RPH, PRESIDENT, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER - RECEPT PHARMACY (SM)
Carmine was recruited in January 2009 to assist in executing the Company's strategic growth plan. He came to ReCept from CVS Caremark, where he spent 24 years in pharmacy operations, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer for TheraCom, a $45 million revenue service division of the company. Carmine was instrumental in leading the sales and operations team to its highest sales and profit levels in 10 years. Prior to taking the TheraCom appointment, Carmine was Vice President of Specialty Operations, overseeing 600 employees across 25 states in 55 locations. He led the operations group, grossing over $1.5 billion in sales and over $75 million in contributions.
Carmine's extensive experience includes acquisitions, integration, business development, sales and marketing, quality and process improvement, and day-to-day operations management. He earned a BS in Pharmacy from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.

JAMES M. MONTANA, PT, DPT
Dr. Montana has been a practicing physical therapist for over 30 years. He is a graduate of Central Connecticut State College, University of Connecticut and received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from The College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, MN. His primary interest is in outpatient physical therapy.
Dr. Montana is the former owner and principal of Associated Rehabilitation Services, Inc. a large private practice. He is a former advisory board of the School of Allied Health, University of Connecticut and former chairperson. Dr. Montana has been an active member of the physical therapy community since 1980.
Dr. Montana's philosophy is that the physical therapist is an integral member of the health care team and must work closely with your physician. By utilizing the team approach the best possible outcomes can be achieved. Presently Dr. Montana is living in Waterford, Connecticut with his wife Deborah and has three grown children and a grandson. He is an active cyclist and skier and promotes wellness through safe exercise.
